Di has had a truly diverse career both in the country of her birth, and in New Zealand. After leaving school, Di qualified as a Ballet teacher and completed the Maestro Enrico Cecchetti Diploma, the highest standard in that style of dance. Regrettably her promising career was cut short by injury. Other doors opened, and within a few years she had completed an Honours Degree in Industrial Psychology. Until 1987, she kept herself busy managing HR Development, first in a manufacturing group of companies, and then at the University of the Witwatersrand. During this time she completed a MBA at Wits. A brief term as a Senior Change Management Consultant with Arthur Andersen gave great experience but left her feeling there was more to life. After arriving in New Zealand, Di helped Ian set up his medical practice, and established herself as an Employment Advocate in Auckland. It wasn't long before she once again began to feel unsettled, and started looking for new direction. Di completed a 2 year certificate course in Viticulture and Winemaking through EIT in Hawkes Bay before progressing to complete her BAppSc (Wine Science) through Charles Sturt University in New South Wales.
